Iran won’t wait for US OK to up exports

Tehran—Iran will continue its efforts to boost its crude oil production and exports regardless of Washington’s opposition to increased international sales of Iranian oil, oil minister Bijan Zanganeh said Monday. Zanganeh was speaking a few days after deputy oil minister and managing director of the National Iranian Oil Company, Rokneddin Javadi, said Iran was currently producing an average 2.85 million b/d of crude, a figure closer to independent estimates of Iranian output than to official levels of 3.25-3.26 million b/d submitted to the OPEC oil cartel.
