New York—The US Atlantic Coast ULSD crack, basis Bakken crude, has fallen nearly 50% over the past week as diesel imports moved to alleviate tight supplies in the region. However, cracking margins for Bakken crude have flipped to a discount to Bonny Light cracking margins, suggesting it may be more profitable for refiners to import Nigerian barrels, Platts data showed Friday. The USAC ULSD crack versus Bakken, on a delivered basis, dropped to $19.88/b Thursday, down from $37.18/b on February 5. The spot ULSD price for New York Harbor barges has fallen roughly 32 cents/gal since February 5 to close at $3.0935/gal Thursday, according to Platts data.
