Sri Lanka introduces 10 ppm sulfur diesel at pumps

Singapore—Sri Lanka’s state-owned Ceylon Petroleum Corp. or Ceypetco introduced ultra low sulfur diesel at its local retail stations last week, joining some Asia Pacific countries in the switch to cleaner fuels, a source close to the company said Monday. The 10 ppm sulfur diesel, known as the Lanka Super Diesel 4 star, was launched at its retail network August 22, and is targeted at the newer diesel vehicle fleet in Sri Lanka in a bid to reduce emissions, Ceypetco said in a statement Friday.
