Russia flags sanction hit on energy tech

Moscow-Western sanctions on Moscow have highlighted some bottlenecks in accessing energy technology used in Russia that the country will only be able to resolve by 2020, energy minister Alexander Novak said Wednesday. Sanctions that ban exports of certain oil drilling technology from the US and Europe show that one of Russia’s weak spots is certain software as well as some pumping and turbine equipment, he told the National Oil and Gas Forum in Moscow.
