Gulf Keystone wins key Shaikan court case

Dubai—A London court has dismissed a suit against UK-listed Gulf Keystone Petroleum brought by Excalibur Ventures, which claimed ownership of 30% of the giant Shaikan oil field in the northern Iraqi region of Kurdistan. In response to the ruling, Gulf Keystone’s shares soared and closed up more than 25% at GBP2.34/share on the London Stock Exchange.
