Houston-Bakken Shale crude is bypassing the US Gulf Coast-edged out by retreating Louisiana Light Sweet prices-and heading to the East and West coasts, as crude by rail shippers seek stronger profit margins. Since the first Bakken loading terminals came into service, the crude has been rolling southward to the Gulf from North Dakota.
