UK’s Ithaca agrees to buy Valiant Petroleum

London—North Sea-focused Ithaca Energy has agreed to buy fellow UK explorer Valiant Petroleum in a GBP203 million ($309 million) cash and share deal. The acquisition will transform Ithaca into a “leading mid-cap” North Sea oil and gas operator with reserves of 74 million barrels of oil equivalent, the company said March 1.
