Ukraine approves shale gas accord with Chevron

Kiev—The Ukrainian government has finally approved a production sharing agreement with Chevron to allow the US major to tap huge shale gas deposits in the eastern European country. Chevron was picked by the government in May 2012 to develop the Olesska deposit, but the project had been repeatedly delayed due to opposition from local councils amid environmental concerns.
