摘要

Vancouver—Proponents of two plans to use railroads for breaking the logjam facing crude oil shipments out of Western Canada are set to embark on their next exploratory phase this month, company officials confirmed January 2. Vancouver-based G Seven Generations (G7G) is ready to launch a one-year feasibility study into its proposed Alberta-Alaska rail link, targeting the start of up to five million b/d of oil sands crude to Asia in 2018 or 2019— while a consortium of railroads and producers expects to decide whether to conduct an experimental shipment of two million barrels from the port at Churchill in Hudson Bay to the North American Atlantic Seaboard or Europe.
