Biofuels to hit 10% of US pool under EPA proposal

Washington-Biofuels would account for 9.63% of the US gasoline and diesel pool under the Environmental Protection Agency's long-awaited proposal for the 2013 renewable fuel mandate. Last year's mandate covered 9.23% of the US transportation fuel supply. Refiners will have to blend 16.55 billion ethanol-equivalent gallons of all renewable fuels into the overall pool this year, a 9% increase from 15.2 billion gallons in 2012.
