Lukoil sees oil output rise in second quarter

Moscow—Russia’s second-largest oil producer Lukoil saw its oil and gas output continue to rise in the second quarter buoyed by new Iraqi barrels as costs fell due to a weaker ruble. Hydrocarbon production—including its share in equity affiliates rose 2.8% year on year to 2.377 million b/d of oil equivalent, the company said Friday. While Iraq’s West Qurna 2 field contributed the most to the company’s output growth, production in Russia also grew slightly by 0.3% year on year in Q2, after being flat in the same period of 2014 and falling in the first quarter of this year.
