Bogota-A sharp decline in Colombian oil and gas exploration and development activity over the first two months of this year has jeopardized the country’s aim of maintaining output at 1 million b/d and has prompted renewed calls by an oil industry group that the government improve terms and reduce red tape. Seismic exploration in Colombia in January and February totaled only 160 sq km, a fraction of the average 4,000 km explored over the same two-month period from 2011 through 2014, Francisco Lloreda, president of the Colombian Petroleum Association, or its Spanish-language acronym ACP, told reporters in Bogota Wednesday.
