Unitization deals could boost Brazil’s reserves

Rio de Janeiro—Brazil’s government subsalt field manager, Pre-Sal Petroleo SA, is in talks to complete 11 unitization deals that are expected to boost the country’s reserves by 1.8 billion-2.3 billion boe, the company’s president said. The unitization agreements, known as individual production agreements, have been signed with state-led Petrobras for the Tartaruga Mestica and Lula-Sul de Lula fields. PPSA expects to reach individual production agreements for the Sapinhoa, Nautilus and Carapeba later this year.
