Pakistan products demand increases on low prices

Karachi-Pakistan’s consumption of refined oil products rose 4% year on year to 22.13 million mt in the fiscal year to June 30 on a surge in demand for gasoline and diesel, Oil Companies Advisory Committee data showed this week. Low oil prices prompted consumers in Pakistan to shift to gasoline from CNG, while demand for diesel increased in the power and farming sectors. Gasoline consumption rose 22% year on year to 4.7 million mt in fiscal 2014-15 and jumped 29% year on year to 449,000 mt in June, said OCAC, which compiles Pakistan’s oil consumption and refinery data.
