Iraq loads first export cargo of Basrah Heavy crude

Amman-Iraq has completed loading the first cargo of Basrah Heavy crude at its southern Gulf export terminals, marking a key move set to boost oil exports from OPEC’s second- biggest oil producer. The Olympic Lion tanker completed loading around 2 million barrels of 23.38 API quality Basrah Heavy crude Friday, local terminal reports showed. The tanker, scheduled to be ready for loading crude at the Gulf terminals on Monday, was moved ahead of a queue of waiting tankers to load Basrah Heavy from one of the two single point moorings dedicated to the new export grade.
