Singapore—China has warned companiesfrom countries outside the South China Searegion against getting involved in disputesover territorial waters.The April 10 warning came after Russiangas giant Gazprom signed a deal with state-runPetroVietnam last week covering two blocks off-shore Vietnam in the South China Sea. Two gasfields and one oil field have been discoveredin the blocks, which lie within areas claimed byboth Vietnam and China, making any hydrocar-bon development there politically sensitive.
