USDA decreases 2012-13 corn ending stocks forecast

London—The US Department of Agriculture cut its projection for corn inventories at the end of the current season to a 17-year low, reflecting a tumble in carry-in stocks and a further decrease in production and yield projections. But it also boosted projections for 2012-13 soybean supplies by 10% compared to its prior forecast, on increased production and beginning of the season stocks in its World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates report released October 11.
