ExxonMobil eyes 2017 peak for new field

Nakhodka, Russia—The ExxonMobil-led consortium developing the Sakhalin 1 project offshore Russia’s Far East expects peak production at the Arkutun-Dagi field of 90,000 b/d to be reached in 2017 and to remain at that level for four to five years, the head of ExxonMobil Russia said May 25. Arkutun-Dagi’s startup is expected in 2014. Glenn Waller was speaking at a project presentation in the port of Nakhodka, where the consortium completed construction of a gravity-based structure for the Arkutun-Dagi platform Berkut, which will add up to 4.5 million mt (90,000 b/d) to the project’s total crude production.
