Houston—A wildfire raging in Colorado led pro-ducers to shut in more than 100 gas wells inthe Piceance Basin as of June 29, and moreoil and gas facilities could be threatened asthe uncontrolled blaze spreads.Black Hills Exploration & Productionhad shut in 98 wells as of midday June 29as a result of the Pine Ridge fire that wasspanning about 12,000 acres at the time.Spokeswoman Amy Estes called the move asafety precaution.
