OPEC sees demand for its oil down in 2013

London-OPEC on July 11 said it expected demand for its crude to fall by 350,000 b/d next year to 29.6 million b/d because it expects the increase in world oil demand to be met entirely by independent producers. OPEC's own rising production of natural gas liquids, which are not subject to OPEC output agreements, will also help to reduce the call on OPEC crude next year. In its monthly oil market report, OPEC sees world oil consumption rising by 820,000 b/d between 2012 and 2013 and non-OPEC supply rising by 920,000 b/d. But OPEC's NGL and non-conventional output is forecast to rise by 240,000 b/d between this year and next, to 5.91 million b/d in 2013 from 5.67 million b/d in 2012.
