India’s ONGC quarterly profits fall 32% on year

Mumbai—India’s state-owned upstream major Oil and Natural Gas Corp. said its net profit for the July-September quarter fell 32% on year to Rupees 58.97 billion ($1.08 billion) compared with Rupees 86.42 billion a year ago, because of a higher subsidy burden. Turnover during the quarter was also 12.5% lower at Rupees 197.88 billion compared with Rupees 226.16 billion in the same quarter last year.
