Shell gives green light to Nigerian gas-flaring projects

London—Shell and its partners have decided to go ahead with two major onshore gas gathering projects in Nigeria worth $4 billion designed to reduce flaring of associated gas and boost oil output, CFO Simon Henry said July 26. Shell has taken final investment decisions on the Forcados-Yokri Integrated Project and the Southern Swamp Associated Gas Gathering project in the shallow offshore area of the Niger Delta, the company said in an earnings statement.
