Cimarex Sells Slice of Permian Acreage to Parsley

Cimarex Energy has agreed to sell roughly 4,200 net acres in the Permian Basin of West Texas to Parsley Energy for $242 million, representing the bulk of $326 million in divestments it announced this week. Denver-based Cimarex said the remaining $84 million came from the sale of noncore assets in the US Midcontinent and Gulf Coast regions to undisclosed buyers. The firm said the divested assets represent 47 billion feet of gas equivalent of proved reserves (63% natural gas) and production of 11 million cubic feet of gas equivalent per day.
