Four drop out of Mexico bidding

Four bidders have dropped out of the race for 14 shallow water blocks in Mexico’s ‘Round One’ licensing tender, which is the first step in the country’s plan to open up its energy sector. Noble Energy, Glencore, Colombia’s state player Ecopetrol and Thailand’s state-owned PTTEP have all asked to exit the competition for the blocks, which are due to be awarded on 15 July, Reuters reported state regulator CNH as saying.
