Iran plans to offer foreign oil companies stakes in the crown jewels of its oil industry, as part of efforts by the new administration in Tehran to rapidly ramp up production if crippling sanctions are lifted on the energy industry. Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Zanganeh has made no secret that it is courting international oil companies, and the minister said Wednesday that the immediate focus is European, not US or Asian, companies. He revealed that he wants them to help on some of the country's biggest and oldest workhorses, Ahwaz, Gachsaran, Aghajari, Bibi Hakimeh and Marun.
