Production Begins at Junin-5 Block

Italy's Eni said Wednesday that production has started at the Junin 5 heavy oil block in Venezuela's Orinoco Belt. Eni said its PetroJunin joint venture with Petroleos de Venezuela (PDV) expects to raise production at Junin 5 to about 15,000 b/d by year's end and 75,000 b/d by early 2015. PDV owns 60% of PetroJunin, while Eni has the remaining 40% stake.
