Oasis Makes Big Bakken Deal

Oasis Petroleum said it is acquiring about 161,000 net acres in the Williston Basin in North Dakota for just over $1.5 billion, adding to its already significant position in the prolific Bakken tight oil play. Oasis--which focuses exclusively on the Bakken--said the acquisition is comprised of four separate deals and will boost the company's presence in the Williston Basin by one-third to nearly 500,000 total net acres.
