The management team behind last year’s $1.9 billion sale of UK-listed independent Cove Energy announced Monday the launch of their new investment vehicle, Discover Exploration, which has signed a first deepwater exploration license offshore East Africa, as reported by International Oil Daily back in November (IOD Nov.1’12). The new company, led by former Cove executives Michael Blaha, John Craven and Michael Nolan, said it was targeting deepwater turbidite plays “principally, but not exclusively in offshore sub-Saharan Africa” and was in discussion with several companies to gain access.
