Report: Islamic State Torches Qayara Oil Field

Retreating jihadist militants belonging to Islamic State have set the Qayara oil field in northern Iraq ablaze, according to Kurdish press reports. Qayara had prewar capacity of around 5,000 b/d, but its crude quality is similar to asphalt and there are major question marks as to how much use Islamic State could have made of the field.
