Alaska Looks at Lower Taxes

Alaska Governor Sean Parnell has rolled out a plan that is designed to ease the pro- duction tax burden borne by oil companies operating on state lands. Parnell is imploring state lawmakers - which began a legislative session in Juneau this week - to lower the starting tax rate for production that takes place in newer oil and gas fields.
