Ormen Lange Resumes

Production from Ormen Lange, Norway's second-largest gas field, is “back to normal,” operator Royal Dutch Shell said Monday. The field resumed output over the weekend. Shell did not disclose the reason for Friday's unscheduled outage (IOD Feb.14,p8). Flows at 5 p.m. Monday through Nor- way's 1,200 km Langeled pipeline into the UK - which usually carries the bulk of Or- men Lange output - had almost reached the previous Monday's high level of 70 MM- cm/d (2.47 Bcf/d). On Friday, by contrast, they had dwindled steadily.
