Aker Wins Eldfisk EPC

Norway's Aker Solutions has won a 5.5 billion Norwegian kroner ($980 million) engineering, procurement and construction contract from ConocoPhillips for the US firm's Eldfisk-II expansion project in the North Sea. The contract, for the topside and bridges of the Eldfisk production platform, is subject to Norwegian approval of Conoco's de- velopment and operation plan, which it submitted in February (IOD Feb.25,p6). Aker will start detailed engineering immediately, while fabrication is expected to begin in in early 2012. The topside will be delivered in early 2014.
