Mitsui subsidiary Moex Offshore has been billed a total of $2.067 billion by BP for costs related to the Macondo disaster in the US Gulf last April (IOD Apr.21,p2). The Japanese firm, a 10% shareholder in the Macondo well, said Friday it expects to receive additional bills from BP but will withhold payment as it is uncertain whether it is obliged to pay.
