Belgians Buy Into Nel Gas Pipe

Belgian gas infrastructure group Fluxys G has finalized its acquisition of a stake in an onshore gas pipeline in Germany that will be linked to the giant Gazprom-led Nord Stream system. The company sealed a deal to buy 19% of the North European Pipeline (Nel) from Germany's Wingas a year ago (IOD Aug.30'10). Completion of the transaction means Nel is now owned 51% by Wingas, 20% by Dutch state pipe group Gasunie, 19% by Fluxys G and 10% by Germany's E.On Ruhrgas.
