Gazprom Nears Belarus Deal

Gazprom says talks with Belarus on takingfull control of its gas pipeline network andsigning new gas supply and transit agreementscould be wrapped up next month, earlier thanthe original date of the end of the year (IODSep.23’11). Following talks in Moscow onThursday between Gazprom chief Alexei Millerand Belarus Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Ru-mas and Energy Minister Alexander Ozeretz,Miller said, “Negotiations with our Belarusfriends are proceeding very intensively and inthe right channel. There are just a few issuesleft. ... We can say absolutely clearly that finalagreements will be reached in the near future. Iam sure we will be ready to sign all the neces-sary documents in November.”
