Petrobras Posts Slim Second - Quarter Profit

Brazil's state - owned oil company Petrobras posted a modest second - quarter profit of 370 million reals ($116 million), while simultaneously reporting an uptick in production, partially due to output growth in the giant offshore presalt formation. The profit is a marked improvement from the first quarter, when Petrobras posted a 1.246 billion real loss ( OD May16'16 ). It reported a 531 million real profit in the second quarter of 2015.
