Norway Shelf Outlays to Fall 18%

Oil and gas companies are expected to invest 185.3 billion kroner ($30 billion) in 2015 on the Norwegian Continental Shelf, 18% lower than the 227.3 billion now anticipated in 2014, according to Statistics Norway. The projected decline next year is mainly due to "significantly lower estimates" for field development and fields on stream, the agency said. The 2015 total, including investment in pipeline transport, is slightly higher than forecast in the previous quarter, the agency said, while the 2014 total is 4.4 billion kroner lower than forecast in June.
