Skyland Petroleum still eyeing east Siberia

Skyland Petroleum is still interested in buying oil assets in east Siberia, Nazir Sharifi, strategic business director for south and central Asia and Russia told this week’s East Siberian Oil and Gas conference, organised by Adam Smith Conferences. Skyland, which is owned by UK firm Vazon Energy, is involved in geological exploration at fields in Tajikistan and Georgia. Sharifi notes that much of the acreage in Yakutia, for example, is unat- tractive for vertically-integrated oil com- panies, but could be of interest to smaller producers. He did not single out any specific projects.
