Panamax rates continued to soften in the Americas coal freight market as charterers lowered rates and tonnage increased in the Atlantic basin. The US east coast-Rotterdam Panamax rate dipped by 50￠/ metric tonne to $11.50/t, as did the US east coast-India Panamax rate to $27.50/t.
