A Review on the Multi-phase Blood Flow through Composite Stenosis

摘要

The present article gives an idea about the mathematical model describing flow of blood through a composite stenosis in an artery. Stenosis or arteriosclerosis is an abnormal and unusual condition of the obstruction of flow of blood across the aortic valve leading to serious consequences. The problem of stenosis is increasing at an alarming rate in the developing and the underdeveloped countries. In this paper there is an analysis of the mathematical laws and equations of blood flow through a composite stenosis in an artery and some important results have been found. The result shows that the velocity of the blood varies inversely with the radius of artery. The pressure exerted by the blood varies directly with its velocity.
