Shanxi has recently planned to invest RMB9.24 billion in the coal chemical industry in 2005-2007 to extend the coal industrial chain.The sales revenue in the coal chemical industry will reach RMB50 billion in 2007.The focus is laid on the development of leading coal chemical enterprises to help them achieve a sales revenue of over RMB3.0 billion a year.20 projects centering on 5 basic products including chemical fertilizer,methanol,acetylene,benzene,and coal tar will be executed to form a coal chemical industry cluster and achieve a sustainable development of the coal chemical industry in Shanxi.
