Arch chief executive to retire in April

Arch Coal chief executive John Eaves plans to step down from his role on 30 April and become the US coal producer’s executive chairman. Company chief operating officer Paul Lang will succeed Eaves as chief executive, Arch said today. James Chapman, Arch’s current executive chairman, will continue to serve on the board as an independent director.
