Shipments of nonferrous scrapfrom the United States took a stepbackward in 2016 amid a substantialdrop in demand for aluminumscrap from China and other keyconsumingcountries.Export volumes declined for fiveof the six scrap grades—aluminum,copper, lead, nickel, zinc and usedbeverage cans (UBC)—tracked byAMM, with shipments tumbling247,416 short tons last year comparedwith 2015, according to U.S.Commerce Department data.
