Gastric cancer (GC) is a heavy burden, and it is a primary cause of cancer-related mortality around the world (38). GC is categorized into two major histological types: diffuse and intestinal by the Operative Link on Gastritis Assessment and the Operative Link on Gastric Intestinal Metaplasia Assessment staging systems (3, 15). The characteristic manifestations evident in patients with GC are lymph node metastasis (LNM), peritoneum, and liver metastases (6). Surgical intervention has been reported as the most effective treatment modality for GC, with early diagnosis exhibiting improved survival rates in patients with GC (18). Patients with advanced GC exhibit a poor prognosis and limited treatment therapies (21). Although Helicobacterpylori infection has been regarded to amplify the risk for GC, evidence supports genetic disorders as a cause for the disease to an unignorable degree (5, 26). Evidence has ascertained the deficiency of some coding genes to induce GC, such as CDH1. Approximately 25% of patients experiencing hereditary diffuse gastric cancer, a rare autosomal dominant inherited form of GC (16), exhibit inactive germline mutations in the CDH1 gene (25).
