The EU review of existing noncrop pesticides is just over 80% complete, but progress continues to struggle with complexity, high workloads and limited resources, says Erik van de Plassche, chair of the European Chemical Authority's (ECHA) Biocidal Products Committee (BPC). The overall review under the EU biocidal products Regulation (528/2012), which covers a wide range of biocides, is just 39% complete. It is due to finish in 2024.
