Adama/S&W to debut herbicide-tolerant sorghum in US

ChemChina subsidiary Adama and US seed company S&W Seed (Longmont, Colorado) have agreed to collaborate on the development of a weed control system for sorghum. The Double Team system is expected to be introduced in the US in limited quantities in 2021. S&W has developed an acetyl CoA carboxylase (ACCase) herbicide tolerance trait in collaboration with the United Sorghum Checkoff programme using traditional breeding and non-genetically modified tissue culture. Adama will supply ACCase inhibitor herbicides for use with the system.
