New Sprayer for in-furrow Amistar application

A specialist sprayer manufacturer based in the UK, Team Sprayers, has developed the first purpose-built equipment to apply the fungicide Amistar in-furrow during potato planting. For the first time this year, potato growers will be able to use Amistar to control soil-borne Black Dot, with potential benefits for crop yield and quality. The Specific Off Label Approval (SOLA) for Amistar on potatoes has been obtained by Cambridge University Farms. It permits the application of six litres of the broad-spectrum strobilurin fungicide per hectare by conventional sprayer across the soil surface and incorporated into soil, or three litres per hectare applied directly into the furrow as the seed potato is planted.
