Govt must be forced to reveal identities of those holding exploration licences

THE SECRETIVE MANNER IN WHICH the Department of Mineral Resources (DMR) operates must be brought to an end. The opacity of the DMR makes a mockery of the South African Constitution's demand for transparency. For mining to have a future, exploration has to take place and exploration will not take place in these circumstances.
