The US over-the-counter thermal coal market remained stillWednesday and prices stayed flat following the third straight daywithout a trade.Sources noted the inactivity seen at the start of the weekcontinued with few bids or offers heard. News came from the naturalgas markets, where the NYMEX January contract stopped itsfreefall. The futures contract had lost 14.7 cents in the previous twodays but recovered slightly Wednesday, gaining 0.8 cent to settle at$2.922/MMBtu.
