US OTC coal prices remain unchanged as week continues on a quiet note

For the second session in a row no activity was reportedThursday in the US over-the-counter thermal coal market, leavingprices unchanged.The Powder River Basin coal market had only two indications of$12.35/st for December front-month reported by brokers. The PRB8,800 Btu/lb assessed price has remained at $12.35/st for the past sixsessions, and has not been higher since October 17 with a price of$12.40/st. The price has not been below $12.40/st since July 30 when Platts assessed PRB 8,800 Btu/lb at $12.25/st, the year low to date forthe market.
